Slimming World appoints MediaCom Birmingham for planning and buying ahead of peak January weight loss season

Slimming World has appointed MediaCom Birmingham to handle its media planning and buying activity effective immediately.

The appointment sees MediaCom Birmingham focusing on planning and delivering activity for the peak January weight loss season with the main aim to increase registration for Slimming World group and online memberships.

Catherine Fox, marketing manager at Slimming World, said: “To support our national marketing activity we wanted an agency that could help us develop cut through in an ever-changing media landscape as consumers increasingly seek information online and through shared social networks. MediaCom impressed us with their knowledge and understanding, scale and ability to negotiate a great deal.”

MediaCom will provide support for Slimming World’s in-house team and will be building on the brand’s foundation of past media activity focused on the women’s magazine sector with a view to helping Slimming World encompass a wider range of media channels and tactics.
