Facebook is getting into the Christmas spirit with the launch of a personalised greeting card service, Say Thanks.

Members will be able to create and share an unlimited number of video messages to friends, partners, co-workers and family in the run up to the festive break, the only disadvantage being you can’t place it on your mantelpiece.

Four different themes will be made available to choose from with the ability to add photos and posts before sharing it direct to your timeline – as well as the timeline’s of tagged friends.

Cameron Ewing, design manager and Nick Kwiatek, engineering manager, said: “Today we’re excited to announce Say Thanks, an experience that lets you create personalized video cards for your friends on Facebook.

“Share a Say Thanks video with a close friend, your significant other, a relative, a coworker, an old friend – or anyone else in your life who you’d like to celebrate. There is no limit to how many personalized videos you can create and share.”
