High achievers from Ogilvy & Mather UK, Mio Skincare, Maxus, News UK and more win big at this year's Women in Marketing Awards

The Chartered Institute of Marketing has revealed the winners of this year’s Women in Marketing (WIM) Awards, for which The Drum is media partner, at a ceremony held last night (4 November) at the Ham Yard Hotel in London.

Hosted by brand guru Rita Clifton CBE high achievers from top UK brands and companies including Ogilvy & Mather UK, Mio Skincare, Maxus and News UK took home the sought after accolades.

Man Bites Dog’s Claire Mason was named best female leader in marketing with Claire Sadler, BT Business, awarded best female marketer B2B. Mio Skincare’s Sian Sutherland took home best female marketer consumer sector and best female marketer independent consultant went to Camilla Honey of JFDI.

The best female marketer not for profit title was awarded to Sarah Francis, Autism West Midlands with Gemma Davies of The Marketing Practice scooping female fast tracked marketer of the year a category in which Alice Pelton of News UK came highly commended.

Lindsay Pattison of Maxus took home a special award for outstanding contribution to marketing and Annette King of Ogilvy & Mather took the marketing company award.

This year’s ceremony also saw the introduction of the judges pioneer of marketing award which was handed to host Clifton for her outstanding contribution to the marketing industry.

WIM Awards creator, London volunteer Ade Onilude, commented: “This is our fifth annual awards and I’m so proud to be in a position to shine a light on these extraordinary women who are making a difference in a profession that touches the public in millions of ways every day.

“By illuminating their stories through the awards we’re not only acknowledging great leadership in marketing, we’re also highlighting the skills, behaviours and expectations of modern leadership, providing inspirational and aspirational role models for future generations of marketers and leaders.”

Sarah Keegan, Ovo Energy; Kate Bird, News UK; Emma Laney-Smith, Syren; Tanya Joesph, Sport England; Kate Brundle, Livity; Becky McKinlay, Ambition Communications; Georgina Gilmore, Kaspersky Lab; Suki Thompson, Oystercatchers and Kate Nightingale, Style Psychology were also on the shortlist.

This year’s event was sponsored by ITV, News UK, Oxford College of Marketing and Grace Belgravia.
