The BBC has unveiled the new digital home for the BBC Earth brand in the UK; just weeks after the international site went live.

Housing imagery, videos and features the BBC Earth site includes a personalised dashboard of info-rich data visualisations created by IIB Studio.

By entering in age, height and gender to the dashboard users are presented with visualisation of key global changes which have taken place since their birth, with three sets of data represented: how man has changed, how Earth has changed; and how man has changed the Earth.

“We are very excited about this latest addition to the BBC Earth family. The website is an incredibly rich destination for natural history and everyone with a curious mind and an interest in the world around them,” explained Matt Walker, editor for BBC Earth, who described the data visualisations created by IIB Studio as “beautifully dynamic and very ambitious”.

IIB Studio creative partner, Duncan Swain, added: “It has been a privilege to work with the BBC Earth team to deliver what’s been a very ambitious project. BBC Earth is a fantastic repository for all the amazing natural history content that the BBC has, and we have created a hugely shareable and beautiful collection of bespoke visualisations to tell the story of Your Life on Earth. Each personalised element, as well as the overall piece, can be shared individually across social networks, helping to drive awareness of BBC Earth’s digital presence and rich content.”

The BBC Earth website is live in the UK and internationally, with the international version carrying advertising.
