Npower has launched the ‘Energy Champions’ campaign to highlight the savings of four SME owners after a power audit in a set of new ads.

The drive aims to raise awareness of Npower's new free power audit scheme for SMEs. It will be pushed through a combination of out of home media, digital, print advertising and PR channels to inspire other businesses to reduce their own energy usage.

McCann Manchester created the campaign’s strategy and creative, Maxus was responsible for media buying, True Digital handled digital and Golin took on PR.

The digital work, including animations, landing pages and film strip banners, will be the first to go live.

This will be followed by out of home activity and PR, delivered near Energy Champions’ businesses and will launch in early November with print advertising set to launch in October.

Kate Jack, head of SME propositions and campaigns at npower, said: “Small and medium sized businesses are the lifeblood of the UK economy. We know energy usage is often dismissed by SMEs as a cost of doing business and many aren’t exploring the considerable savings they could make, which would free up money to reinvest in their businesses.

“We want the stories of our Energy Champions to inspire other business owners from across the country to make their own significant savings.”

Video ads featuring three other SME champions will follow in the coming month.
