Yahoo appoints Washington Post’s Kevin Gentzel to lead up advertising sales
Yahoo has appointed Kevin Gentzel to join its team as head of advertising sales for North America.
Gentzel joins from the Washington Post, where he held the role of chief revenue officer.
Here, he expanded the New York office, as well as the international sales team, hiring a new director based in London, and raised The Post’s profile with global brands.
Gentzel joined the Washington Post in June 2013, after 13 years at Forbes.
Of his old job and new appointment, he said: “It had to be an opportunity of this magnitude for me to even consider leaving The Washington Post, a brand I have long revered, and this team, for which I have the deepest respect and admiration.”
Arnie Applebaum, The Washington Post’s publisher of targeted products, will act as interim chief revenue officer.
