Keynote Google event expected to showcase Android L
Google is expected to lift the lid on the final version of its long-awaited Android L update today during a keynote address, just four months after showing off a developer preview in June.
The occasion has been thrust into the limelight as a likely launching pad for the HTC Nexus 9, a top of the range 9 inch handset with a resolution of 2048x1440 pixels. Under the hood it will house 16GB of storage and an 8MP camera with an expected price tag of around $399.
It will be joined in all probability by Motorola’s Nexus 6 which will carry a more manageable 5.9 inch display.
Moreover the search provider is also rumoured to be readying version 2 of its Android Wear software at the event together with a refined version of its smartwatch. A key feature of the new watch will be a capability to work independently of a smartphone.
Finally Google is also expected to dust off its Android TV package.
