One Direction have teamed up with online creative community Talenthouse to invite budding producers to remix the first single from their upcoming album, Four, due for release on 17 November.

The competition, which will be judged by the brand and senior A&R and Sony Music radio executive, asks aspiring producers to remix 'Steal My Girl' and will see the winner handed a £1,500 cash prize as well as exposure for their remix across One Direction’s social channels.

After getting involved in the remix process himself band member Liam Payne said he loved “how different the track can sound” and that he was looking forward to hearing other people’s interpretations of it.

He added: “That’s why we decided to run the competition. I’ve done quite a chilled version [with Afterhrs], it would be great to see an upfront Friday night club track to get everyone on the dance floor moving”.

Maya Bogle, co-founder of Talenthouse, commented: “This is a huge opportunity to make your mark in the music industry, work with the music from biggest band on the planet and have your music listened to by top senior people in the music industry. We’re thrilled Sony Music has partnered with Talenthouse to tap into the creative community and unlock important career-boosting opportunities for musicians.”

Radio executives on the judging panel have agreed that if the winning remix hits the mark they will present it to radio stations. Two highly commended producers and the highest voted remix by the public will also receive £500.

Producers have until 10am on Friday 7 November to submit their Steal My Girl remixes online.
