Ryanair is looking to keep passengers up to date with all of its 1,600 daily flights, having created a Twitter feed to provide instant updates.

The @RyanairFlights account can be contacted through direct messages, with users sending a flight number receiving an automatic update on the flight, with scheduled departure and arrival times, as well as news of early landings or delays.

The company previously used its general social channel to provide such customer service updates, but only had limited interactions with customers.

“Ryanair is pleased to launch @RyanairFlights, offering Twitter users instant real-time information for our 1,600 daily flights,” said Robin Kiely, head of communications at Ryanair.

“Over 100,000 people already follow our official @Ryanair Twitter account for the latest news, special fare offers and dedicated customer service and we look forward to rolling out further digital innovations, as we continue to offer so much more than just the lowest fares.”

The move from Ryanair comes a week before the airline is set to discuss how they have been improving the customer experience at The Drum’s Joy of CX conference. To find out more and attend, visit the conference’s website.
