Lego has held its first ever UK awards ceremony, a Lego Star Wars branded event which has been dubbed The Golden Brickies.

Held in anticipation of the upcoming Episode VII instalment of the hit science fiction franchise the event launched on Facebook with an invitation to families to take part in a Lego challenge to find upcoming film-making talent.

Winners of this contest were rewarded with a red carpet bash hosted by former Ewok Warwick Davis at the Lego Land Windsor Resort Hotel.

Davis said: “I am so thrilled and honoured to be a part of this epic Lego Star Wars event, showcasing the next generation of film makers, Lego builders and photographers!
