Virgin Holidays has teamed with Microsoft for a two-year campaign to launch ‘Plan-it Mojo’, an interactive holiday planning tool built as an extension of the Virgin Holidays website.

The new platform, created by Microsoft and Manning Gottlieb OMD, is an interactive guide to all Virgin Holidays locations across the world and will be supported by rich media multiplatform advertising across Microsoft’s services, to serve as an alternative to the traditional holiday brochure.

Features include on-the-ground information about each destination, pulling in content sources from across the internet, with locations pin-pointed using an interactive map via Bing Maps functionality.

This lets consumers select and save flagged places of interest to the cloud from a number of categories such as entertainment, sport, food and drink, night life and hotels.

Plan-it-Mojo is optimised to any screen and all content is sourced and created to ensure it fits with Virgin Holidays’ tone of voice and offering.

Sam Otter, head of marketing at Virgin Holidays, said: “This industry first provides a new and engaging way for consumers to view our content, creating an interactive platform for them to plan their holiday. It’s only been possible thanks to our unique media partnership with Microsoft, and we can’t wait to see our customers’ reactions to what is a yet another pioneering activity from Virgin Holidays.”

The hub will be supported with branded editorial content that will be developed for the travel section of the new MSN along with rich media advertising across Outlook and Skype, with a custom Windows 8 Ads-in-Apps creative that will follow the initial launch.
