Northern & Shell communications director leaves following argument with Richard Desmond
Mimi Turner, communications director at Northern & Shell, has left the company following a bust-up with company founder Richard Desmond.
It is understood that a meeting in the past month saw Desmond swear at Turner.
Of leaving the company, Turner said: “It has been a privilege to spend two and a half years at Northern & Shell working for one of Britain’s great entrepreneurs and success stories. I wish Richard and the company all the best for the future.”
Previously a journalist at entertainment magazine The Hollywood Reporter, Turner took up the role of comms director for Northern & Shell when it was first created in February 2012.
A spokesperson at the company said: “Mimi has been extremely effective and we would like to thank her for her hard work and wish her well.
“Mimi Turner has worked for Northern & Shell as group director of communications and public affairs, adding the role of director of sales and marketing for The Health Lottery earlier this year."
Turner has updated Twitter profile to call her role ‘former’ and proclaim herself ‘still a big fan’ of the company.
