Money transfer company World First teams with Mr Men owner Sanrio to create new character

World First, an international money transfer business has teamed with Mr Men brand owner Sanrio to create a new character – Mr First – for its first ad campaign.

The campaign, created by VCCP, also features classic Mr Men characters Mr Silly, Mr Grumpy, Little Miss Scatterbrain, Little Miss Dotty, Mr Wrong and Mr Nonsense, and plays on the idea that none of them know that World First is a cheaper and quicker way to transfer money abroad.

Karen Eisen, World First’s global marketing director, said the campaign will form part of the company’s 10 year anniversary celebrations.

"At World First, the customer experience is at the centre of everything we do, so we wanted a creative execution that really brought our brand to life and resonated with people on a personal level. Mr First really cuts through the clutter and tells our story in a unique, compelling and memorable way,” she said.

The character will be introduced across all World First’s marketing channels.

The campaign launched today (6 October) and features print, social and out of home including 48 posters at rail and underground stations, digital escalator panels and giant screens at major stations.
