YouView names Nick Thexton as chief technology officer
On demand television service YouView has appointed Nick Thexton as its new chief technology officer (CTO), taking up post on 3 November.
Thexton takes on the new role from his present job as vice president and CTO of Cisco’s Video Software Solutions group, culminating a long career in broadcasting which began which began at Thames Television and Channel 4.
This experience has allowed Thexton to build a reputation in the field of new video technology for consumer products and services through recent work on cloud-based video distribution, hybrid devices and dynamic ad insertion technology used on Sky’s ‘Adsmart’ programme.
