Vox Pop: Which celebrity would you choose to promote your agency?
With celebrity endorsements still as popular a marketing technique as ever, we asked some of The Drum Network member agencies the following question: If you could select any celebrity to help promote your agency, who would you choose and why?
Phil Rainey, creative director, Cuckoo Design
Jack Nicholson, because Jack is certainly one high flying Cuckoo who'd be a great face for our brand. Intelligent, sophisticated and award-winning, I can see him shouting 'You can't handle the truth!' in a client meeting today.
Becky McKinlay, managing director, Ambition Communications
Ambition values are around being brave, being inspiring and giving a sh*t. To support these, we’d choose the very talented musician Paolo Nutini. Endlessly talented, pushes boundaries and cares about the craft of music. It helps that he looks good and performs brilliantly too.
Sean Singleton, managing director, Digital Annexe
Professor Brian Cox - the guy who presented a TV show called ‘Wonders of the Universe’. He is very enthusiastic and engaging, but more importantly, he takes the hugely complex and makes it simple to understand. As a result, he is pretty inspiring. Our tag line is ‘Impact. Made simple.’ As we try to make the complex world of digital easy to understand for our clients and focus on delivering the biggest impact possible.
Alex Sibille, managing director, The Future Factory
We've got two! Bill Nighy - charismatic, quirky, a bit cool (but not too cool) and still the ultimate professional - or George Clooney. New business is a lot like dating. If you can engage the attention of strangers, the battle is part won. You want to lure potential new clients in, but retain just enough mystery that they want to spend more time with you and get to know you better.
Claire Kanani, marketing manager, Kolab Digital
Bill Murray. He has a lifetime of experience and been around the block, but he’s still as sharp as ever. His creativity, humour and dedication stands out in some of the greatest comedy blockbusters of the past thirty years, but he’s equally at home in dramatic roles and independent films. He’s never afraid of doing things his own way - if he really wants to do something, even something a bit crazy, he just does it, from joining in Karaoke with complete strangers to crashing Frat parties. You never know quite what to expect from Bill Murray, but you can bet it will be great.
