Starbucks has partnered with London chain-restaurant Pod for a trial period in a move designed to improve its food offering.

Three Starbucks stores in central London – Harewood Place, Moorgate and Pentonville Road – will feature co-branded menu leaflets offering customers a broader range of breakfast and lunch options including scrambled eggs on toast, bee pollen Bircher Muesli and pulled pork and pickle flatbread.

Pod, which markets itself as a provider of fresh, healthy seasonal food, has also developed new recipes exclusively for Starbucks.

Tim Hall, founder of Pod, said that the partnership was a great opportunity for it to expand its customer base.

Mark Lowe, founder of Third City, has previously analysed the coffee conglomerate's proposition and the ways in which is it trying to reconnect with the community.
