Entertainment streaming service Netflix has opted to stop battling against spoilers and instead go with the flow after launching its very own spoiler alert hub.

The social site allows viewers to share the webpage on Facebook and Twitter and is dedicated entirely to giving away plot lines, endings and dramatic plot twists to shows such as Lost, Desperate Housewives and Kill Bill: Volume 2 for those who just can’t resist the temptation.

Developed in response to a specially commissioned poll, which found that 21 per cent of Americans thought it was ok to share spoilers as soon as a film or programme has aired. It also showed that 94 per cent would not be dissuaded from viewing content, even if they were already aware of key plot details.

Anyone brave enough to venture online can also participate in a Which Spoiler Are You? quiz in which people can vote on a sliding scale of acceptable spoilers, currently topped by the Cool Runnings climax.

Netflix has been moved to act after shaking up the episodic format of traditional broadcasts in favour of ‘binge viewing’ whereby entire seasons are made available to view simultaneously.
