Peta collaborates with street artist Dan Witz for London art installation
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta) has teamed with New York City street artist Dan Witz on a guerrilla art installation, which seeks to highlight how animals are kept and killed for food.
The Empty the Cages campaign combines elements of street art, social media and QR code technology to create more than 30 pieces of art that will be placed around London.
Peta director Mimi Bekhechi commented: "Paul McCartney said that 'if slaughterhouses had glass walls, everyone would be vegetarian.' It is precisely this sentiment which has inspired this collaboration."
The art includes images of pigs and chickens and can be viewed at locations including Pentonville Road, St John Street, Smithfield Market and Barbican.
