US paint brand Valspar has appointed WPP-owned Clarion Communications to carry out consumer and crisis PR ahead of its UK launch.

The brand will be exclusively rolled out across B&Q stores and the agency will focus on educating consumers on the product attributes of Valspar paint, including ease of application, durability and scrub-ability.

Gary Freemantle, CEO of Clarion Communications, said of the win: "Our campaign will inspire people to express themselves with colour. We’re very much looking forward to sharing our brand launch experience, together with our expertise in interiors, to help bring the Valspar brand to life in UK.”

Based in Minneapolis the brand is the fifth largest paint and coatings corporation in the world and the second biggest paint brand in the US.
