This year's Fittest in Media challenge is now into its third week, and Mediacom's Derek Appua has managed to hold on to the top spot.

The Drum's leaderboard shows that Esmerelda Lockhart from Maxus has achieved the top grade in the women's category, whilst Appau has taken the number one position in the men's category and overall.

The competition has seen Dennis Publishing title Men's Fitness tour some of the UK's biggest advertising agencies to find the fittest man or woman working in a UK media firm.

Each contestant has participated in a minute-long challenge to see how much exercise they're able to do without resting between burpees, sit ups and push ups.

Lockhart came top of her scoreboard after completing a total of 138 exercises in the allocated time, Suzana Lay from MGOMD came a close second with 133.

Danielle Russell from Zenith OmptiMedia achieved the highest number of burpees in the women's league, having done 28 in 60 seconds.

Meanwhile, Appau has a combined score of 178. Danny Baker from PHD and James Fisher from Mediacom complete the top three with 152 and 151 respectively.

Collectively Maxus has 1649 points, making it the fittest agency overall so far.

There's still two more rounds to go and The Drum will be updating the leaderboard after each event - Mindshare will be hosting the competition on 17 September and Starcom MediaVest are set to hold the trial on 9 October.

At the end of the competition, the competitor with the highest score will be crowned the champion.
