Brand Union acquires majority stake in Brazilian design firm

WPP’s Brand Union has acquired 60 per cent stake in Brazilian design firm Epigram for an undisclosed sum.

Based in São Paulo and employing 60 people, Epigram’s services include identity development, graphic design and packaging, architecture and retail space design and clients include MasterCard, Telefonica, Vivara, Giraffas and Delboni.

Its unaudited revenues for the year ended 31 December 2013 were approximately R$8.4m (£2.2m) with gross assets of approximately R$1.5m (£513,000) at the same date.

In a release, WPP said it is committed to its strategy of investing in fast growing markets and developing its strategic networks throughout the Brazilian market.
