Mediacom's Derek Appau has made it to the top of the Fittest in Media scoreboard this week, after racing ahead of competitors from Maxus, OMD, PHD and others.

The contest, which is run by Men's Fitness, has been rolled out across some of the UK's biggest advertising firms to find the fittest man or woman working in a UK media agency.

From sit ups to burpees, each contestant has undergone a timed minute-long challenge to see how much exercise they can do without resting between moves.

Appau has not only broken last week's overall score of 144 - setting a new record of 178. He's also achieved the highest mark in every category so far, completing 92 press ups in 60 seconds.

Meanwhile, Danny Baker from PHD has sprinted in to second place with an overall high of 152.

Mindshare are set to hold the challenge on the 19 September, with Starcom hosting on the 9 October, The Drum will be updating the leaderboard after each event,

At the end of the competition, the contestant with the highest score will be crowned the champion.
