A prostate cancer charity has announced it is rejecting donations from reddit users who viewed the stolen images of Hollywood females including Jennifer Lawrence.

Jennifer Lawrence has condemed the theft of the pictures

The donation campaign was started by redditors in ‘the Fappening’ forum by viewers who felt guilty about viewing the stolen content.

Subscribers to the 130,000-strong subreddit were encouraged to donate to the charity to make amends for viewing the intimate images. As a result over £3,600 was raised by the page before it was shut down by the charity “out of respect for everyone involved”.

The gesture, which was slightly less unpleasant than 4 Chan's despicable ‘#leakforJLaw’ campaign which was designed to trick Jennifer Lawrence supporters into posting nude selfies, was ultimately rejected by the Prostate Cancer Foundation.

A Prostate Cancer Foundation spokesman said: “On Monday, a Reddit user directed other Reddit users to make a donation to the Prostate Cancer Foundation without the foundation’s knowledge.

“We would never condone raising funds for cancer research in this manner. In keeping with our own standards, we are returning all donations that resulted from this post.”

Users of the site suggested the charity after a user claimed Jennifer Lawrence previously had donated to it.

This came after images of over 100 women stored on Apple’s iCloud were leaked online to forums such as Reddit and 4 Chan.

The Californian giant on Wednesday denied that its system was to blame adding that hackers brute-forced the accounts' passwords until access was granted as they could any website.
