Yes Scotland has published a sun-soaked homage to independence replete with rousing music as the campaign group gears up for the final furlong in the historic vote.

Depicting the lives of happy people around the country the premise equates the positive aspects of personal independence with that of the national variety, asking: “Independence? It’s what we all want in our lives so why shouldn’t our country be independent too?”

Whilst stopping short of promising eternal sunshine the ad does fire a salvo of chest-puffing economic facts; noting that Scotland is amongst the top twenty wealthiest countries in the world, with abundant natural resources and ‘booming’ life science industries.

Its backers will be hoping for more luck than their opposite numbers at Better Together, who faced ridicule after airing a ‘sexist’ advert which, apparently, convinced some undecided ‘s to swing behind the Yes camp.
