Uncle Ben’s has created a dedicated YouTube channel as part of a new campaign aimed at encouraging children and families to cook together.

The Ben’s Beginners campaign and channel will begin with an online film, which rolls out from today (26 August), to raise awareness of the issue of disappearing family cooking skills.

The channel will feature a series of weekly shows hosted by American DJ and barbecue cook DJ BBQ, where he will show seven YouTube stars how to cook a simple meal. This is supported by a set of videos where presenter Lisa Faulkner will teach kids the basic skills they’ll need to follow the recipes.

The celebrity Masterchef-winning mum will also encourage kids to enter a cooking competition to show what they’ve learned.

In addition Uncle Ben’s has partnered with The Children’s Food Trust, the largest network of after-school cooking clubs in the country, to offer a £10,000 makeover to the winner’s school kitchen.
