Twitter has expanded its Ads markets to cover 12 new EMEA countries, including Bosnia & Herzegovina, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Ukraine and Portugal.

Ali Jafari, VP of direct sales in Europe for Twitter announced the additional countries in a blog post today, 26 August.

He said: “There has been tremendous growth in this region over the last year, and Twitter Ads will now be available in 35 EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) markets through direct sales support teams and reseller partnerships.”

The move by Twitter comes at the same time as the platform’s deal with payments startup Stripe looks to be closer to hand, according to sources.

Re/code has reported that the deal between the two platforms could see users able to make purchases directly from a tweet.
