Pinterest has revealed improvements to the analytics functions for registered business users.

The new analytics allow users to discover how much traffic their site gets from the Pin It button, as well as learning more about the people who engage with the business and what else they’re into.

Jason Costa, product manager at Pinterest, announced the changes. He said: “We often hear from businesses who change their product and marketing strategies based on insights they learn on Pinterest.

"For example, Lowe’s introduced a DIY-focused marketing strategy after learning that their “create-your-own-colorful-doormat” Pin got more than 200,000 repins. And UK-based Juniper Cakery came up with new cake design techniques after learning about their customers’ confection preferences through Pinterest analytics.”

The new analytics look to add to this, providing advice on how to increase impressions, clicks and repins so users can refine their Pinterest strategy and reach more people.

Businesses will also be able to see the most common interests of their followers, and what other businesses they follow, allowing Pins to be tailored to followers based on their interests.
