The MailOnline is celebrating after clocking up over 50m video views throughout July, a milestone which ranks as its best ever month by volume for the medium.

Compiled by ABC the figures show a 35.8 per cent month-on-month increase for the media platform from July and a year-on-year boost of 74.7 per cent.

These numbers were bolstered by 174.5m global monthly unique visitors who logged in to the MailOnline’s website and apps over the month, equivalent to month-on-month growth of 3.8 per cent and year-on-year growth of 30 per cent.

This equated to a daily average number of users of 11m, a slight increase of 1.2 per cent on June 2014 and 25.1 per cent from July of last year.

In its home market the MailOnline notched up 53.7m monthly unique visitors through July, an uptick of 0.9 per cent from a month earlier and a 22.2 per cent rise over the year.

Separate figures published by Hitwise confirmed that this makes the MailOnline by far the number one newspaper site amongst British internet users with a 41 per cent share, more than double that of its closest competitor, the guardian.
