Manchester-based online fashion brand Little Black Dress (LBD) has created a timeline of the history of Chanel to celebrate the designer’s 131st birthday.

The retailer, whose names reflects Chanel’s famous piece of apparel – the little black dress – has put together the account of her life in addition to a “Coco-inspired” collection of dresses.

Nathalie Gibbins, editor at Littleblackdress.co.uk told The Drum: “Coco Chanel is the creator of our namesake and a style icon who revolutionised the world of fashion forever; if it weren’t for Coco we might all still be reading this gasping in corsets!

“As a website that revolves around the timeless little black dress, a documentation of her intriguing life is not only part of the heritage of our brand but also fascinating for any woman who treasures her LBD above all else”.

Little Black Dress sells a range of dresses from brands including Forever Unique, Johnny loves Rosie and Traffic People.
