Hobbycraft has secured its first sponsorship deal partnering with new series Crafty Beggars, airing on Discovery TLC and Home & Health.

Launching in October for a seven episode run, Crafty Beggars hopes to emulate the success of shows such as the Great British Sewing Bee and Great British Bake Off, harnessing a passion for crafts.

“There has been a gap in the market for a TV programme that really champions the crafting movement and we believe this show has all the ingredients necessary to talk to our customers,” said Hobbycraft customer development director, Katherine Paterson, of the partnership. “We’re delighted that Hobbycraft is involved in a programme that fits so well with our brand.”

Hosted by Julie Peasgood and former Pet Rescue presenter Wendy Turner Webster, Crafty Beggars sees two pairs of craft enthusiasts go head-to-head over a crafty challenge during a two day period.

Hobbycraft will also be supporting Kirstie’s Handmade Fair at Hampton Court Palace from 19-21 September.
