Bauer Media names former Perform Group and Warner Group executive Sam Jones as digital managing director

Bauer Media has named Sam Jones, formerly of Perform Group, Warner Group and LoveLive, as managing director, digital.

The appointment signals further investment into developing Bauer’s digital business in what the company called “a major appointment”.

Prior to joining Bauer, Jones was group director of sports media company Perform Group, and before that COO and co-founder of music branded content and distribution company LoveLive. During his time at Warner Music Group, he developed digital services in more than 50 countries was heavily involved in development of video.

Paul Keenan, Bauer Media CEO, said: “This is a pivotal appointment for Bauer Media. Sam is one of the leading players within the digital space, and has highly relevant experience to develop and extend our offer to ensure our products engage and deliver for consumers, advertisers and partners across all platforms and devices.”

Keenan added that the company was “committed” to digital development, “particularly in video”.

Jones said: “Bauer Media is uniquely placed for digital growth with true multi-platform touch-points – online, mobile, TV, radio, magazines – that own measurably engaged and deep relationships with tens of millions of passionate consumers.”

Jones will begin the role on 1 September.
