Pepsi names Vipul Prakash as Indian marketing head
Soft drink giant Pepsi-Co has appointed Vipul Prakash to serve as its marketing director for the Indian subcontinent as a replacement for incumbent Deepike Warrier.
The decision follows Warrier’s switch to Dubai to oversee the wider Asia-Middle East region.
Prakash was himself formerly based in Dubai where he served as marketing director for the Pepsi brand in India, masterminding well-regarded campaigns such as ‘Oye Bubbly’ and ‘Blue Billion’.
PepsiCo chief people officer Samik Basu told The Economic Times: "These moves are meant to provide the next level of critical leadership experiences for both."
The new role will see Prakash assume responsibility for 22 separate brands; including Pepsi, Mountain Dew and Lays.
