Media and entertainment world mourns death of ex-Radio 1 DJ Mike Smith
Former colleagues and friends of former Radio 1 presenter Mike Smith have taken to Twitter to pay their respects following his premature death at the age of 59.
Smith, who was previously presenter of major BBC shows including Breakfast Show, has passed away reportedly due to complications related to a heart surgery operation.
His death has shocked the media world, with former colleagues and friends including Simon Mayo, and Noel Edmunds expressing shock and devastation.
Smith, who was married to former children’s TV star Sarah Greene for 25 years, was well-known in the media world and had regular slots on shows including Top of the Pops.
