Stewart Easterbrook is to exit Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG) following a five year stint as UK chief executive and, most recently, serving as executive director performance and digital development for Europe.

He has spent 17 years of his career at the Group, having also held the roles of group managing director for two years, operations director at MediaVest, and before that business director at Starcom.

Easterbrook became executive director performance and digital development following a restucture at SMG which resulted in Steve Parker and Pippa Glucklich promoted to a new co-chief executive role.

However, after just 10 months in the new position, which saw him focus on growth and development in the digital space, Easterbrook is now pursuing other interests in the technology, data and mobile space.

“I have enjoyed the most fantastic 17 years with SMG," he said. "Over that period I have had the pleasure of working alongside many incredibly talented people on an amazing, transformational journey. I am very proud of the agency that we have built together, both in the UK and globally. From a personal perspective, this feels like the perfect time to explore new opportunities in an unprecedentedly fast-changing media communications world. So an exciting next phase for me that will be made all the more enjoyable by watching SMG continue going from strength to strength”.
