YouTube personality Timothy DeLaGhetto released a tear-jerking video earlier this week in which he rewarded his parents' kindness and support by providing them with a cheque for $210,000 to pay off their mortgage.

The rapper and funnyman, whose YouTube channel has over 2.4m subscribers, dropped out of college to try his hand at becoming a digital entertainer.

DeLaGhetto said: "I dropped out of college five years ago to pursue a career in entertainment. My parents always wanted me to stay in school and get a degree,"

"To reassure them, I said I would pay off the house," he told USA Today.

The self-made DeLaGhetto also paid another $130,000 for their house near Long Beach.

DeLaGhetto created the video, which went viral with mustering over 172,000 views, to show people not to take their family for granted.

He added: "One of the main reasons I go so hard at this entertainment grind ... is so they don't have to work so hard, because they work so hard."

In the clip DeLaGhetto's father, Kongkiat Chantarangsu, told his son he always believed in him while his mother, Sukhon Chantarangsu, cried.
