Manchester United faces a tricky decision as to whether or not to honour sales made during a pricing cock-up on their official merchandise website – after operators Kitbag inadvertently applied a 60 per cent across the board sale to all products

Around 4,000 fans were able to take advantage of the offer by snapping up full club kits, RRP £92, for a mere £34… before officials were able to correct the error.

The mistake will cost the club a hefty £200k in lost revenue if they go ahead but could be a public relations disaster if expectant fans are left empty handed – although supplier Kitbag have refused to say whether or not they will honour purchases made.

A Kitbag spokesperson told mufclatest.com said: “At this time, we are waiting for the club to respond as to whether we can honour the orders already placed. Orders can be cancelled at our discretion, but due to the high volume, confirmation from the club is necessary.”

News of the deal swiftly spread like wildfire on social media before web masters were able to update the site at 8am.
