In a sad sign of the times a new poll by research agency Opinion Matters has found that close to 70 per cent of children wish that their own parents would spend less time engrossed in their phones and more time with them.

In all one in five children in Britain complained that their own parents were failing to listen to them as they were too engrossed in emails, social media and entertainment.

The eye opening report found that more than a third of children expressed concern that their parents struggled to log off and switch off with a quarter accusing the adults of double standards in the obsessive use of mobile gadgets, televisions and computers.
