Huawei's flagship device, the Ascend P7 is sold in over 70 countries
The telecom equipment producer reported a sales revenue of £12.8bn after the firm successfully grew its smartphone market.
Additionally, the company’s rapid growth in software and services helped steady its carrier network business.
Huawei’s appointment of BBH as its global ad agency earlier this year also saw a substantial rise in brand awareness throughout the world.
Cathy Meng, chief financial officer at Huawei, said: “Revenue and profit for the first half of 2014 are in line with our expectations. Driven by increasing investments in LTE networks worldwide, Huawei has further solidified its leadership position in mobile broadband.
"We are confident that in 2014 we will achieve sustainable growth, robust operations, and healthy financials."
Rivals Apple and Samsung will worried by the news of Huawei’s rising smartphone sales as competition heats in the build up to the launch of new generations of iPhone and Galaxy devices, later this year.
Huawei, which has over 140,000 employees worldwide, has headquarters in Shenzhen, China.
