Yahoo's US search share hits 'all-time low'
Yahoo's search share has reportedly fallen to an "all-time low", according to financial analyst notes revealing the latest comScore US search market share data for June.
The notes, which have released the numbers early, claim the combined Yahoo-Bing 'search alliance' share remains flat at 29 per cent, with Bing growing at Yahoo's expense.
Google stays on top with 67.6 per cent of search share, followed by Bing (19.2 per cent), Yahoo (9.8 per cent) and others (3.4 per cent).
Desktop search declined for the fifth consecutive month after a period of growth in mid-2013. Paid search growth was one of the bright spots for Yahoo, bringing in $403m in Q2, an increase of five per cent on Q2 2013.
Despite driving more than 30 per cent of total US internet traffic the figures do not include mobile search, which according to StatCounter Yahoo has a 9.3 per cent share of, compared with Bing's 5.5 per cent and Google's 85 per cent.
