Facebook’s censors have slapped a ‘pornographic’ label on a charity calendar created by the Warwick University Rowing Society, after its members stripped off for a fundraising photo shoot.

Their exploits saw 1,500 calendars fly off the shelves from punters looking for an eye catching means of organising their lives for the year but came unstick when the social media giant blocked it from their website.

Warwick Rowing’s Women’s Naked Calendar sported a series of images unified by the common theme of the River Avon, rowing and nudity. It was this latter constant which raised eyebrows however with the social media platform deeming much of the work to be ‘sexually explicit content’, charity or no.

Despite their promotional efforts being thwarted the team still managed to raise £3,400 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
