Yahoo share of worldwide ad revenues declines 0.34%, allowing Microsoft to overtake

Google continues to dominate the global digital ad market this year, accounting for 31.45 per cent of dollars invested by digital advertisers worldwide, while Facebook accounts for 7.79 per cent in second place: up from 5.82 per cent).

Microsoft is set to grow its net worldwide ad revenues by over a fifth this year to reach $3.5bn, eMarketer estimates, accounting for 2.54 per cent of the market, pushing Yahoo into fourth place with 2.52 per cent – down from the 2.86 per cent of revenues it held last year.

Twitter, Amazon and Millennial Media also made the top ten companies in terms of digital ad market share worldwide, with the market predicted to grow slightly faster at 16.7 per cent this year.

The eMarketer research predicts that Facebook will take 22.3 per cent of the $32.71bn worldwide mobile advertising market this year, up from 17.8 per cent in 2013, and making the platform second after Google.

Twitter will continue its ascent in the mobile ad world as well, growing from 2.4 per cent to 2.8 per cent in 2014.
