An Australian ad man has created a sleek commercial and website to sell a 15-year-old Holden Barina for $2,000.

David Johns has claimed that the car provides “Driving, redefined. Style redefined. Performance redefined. Luxury redefined”.

Johns posted the ad ‘Buy my Barina’ on Sunday to sell the blue, three door hatchback.

The campaign, which has been dubbed one of the internet’s greatest marketing stunts, aims to raise John’s profile – and sell the car for double its worth.

He has worked on the advert with some help from his colleagues at Chimney Group, even sending it to car manufacturer Holden, who offered the ad guru a switch for a newer model.

Follow the bidding with #buymyburina to see who much, the car which has clocked over 188,000 kilometers, sells for.
