BBC's Doctor Who headache continues as Peter Capaldi debut episode is leaked online six weeks early
Peter Capaldi’s debut as Doctor Who has been leaked online in a rough black and white edit of the upcoming series’ first episode.
Security breach: Doctor Who scripts and footage have been leaked
Following the news earlier this week that scripts for the first five of eight episodes had been leaked online, the Radio Times has reported that footage has now also appeared online, six weeks ahead of the transmission date on 23 August.
RadioTimes.com quoted a BBC Worldwide spokesperson as saying: “This is part of BBC Worldwide’s ongoing security investigation into leaked unfinished Doctor Who materials.
“This content is currently being removed and originated from the same Miami server we disabled last week, it is not a new issue.
“We’d like to thank the amazing Doctor Who fans who are continuing to keep fansites and social media spoiler-free but would remind anyone downloading and sharing this material that it is illegal to do so.”
The leaks prompted the BBC to launch a well-received #keepmespoilerfree social media campaign.
