Rollable TV screens to reinvigorate flat monitor market
Electrical goods giant LG has boldly predicted that rollable TV screens will become a fixture of the living room within as early as 2017.
Two paper thin prototypes are currently under development by the firm - one of which is so flexible it can be rolled up into a tube with a diameter of just 3cm.
This could manifest itself as a consumer ready product within just three years.
The 60in Ultra HD screen has a resolution of 1200x810 which LG claim suffers no distortion when curled up.
Another prototype boasts a transparent screen which promises to reduce hazy images.
