Work-centric social network LinkedIn has released the Connected app for iPhone hoping make the site more mobile.

Brubacher suggests that Connect is like a 'virtual coffee shop'

Connected, which uses a card-based swipe interface, was designed specifically to take the "work out of networking".The easy-to-use app will help professionals keep up to date with their LinkedIn networks.

After users sync their contacts and calendar with Connected, they will receive customisable push notifications to give them reminders and information about colleagues.

The iOS app has been projected to increase users' profile views by six times.

David Brubacher, group production manager of LinkedIn, said: "We know you'd love to reach out and catch up with everyone in your network over coffee, but that isn't always possible.

"LinkedIn Connected gives you relevant and timely reasons to reach out and keep in touch with the people in your network."

The new Connected app for iOS is available in English and can be downloaded from the Apple store.
