Skrill to welcome former Weve CEO David Sear as new CCO

David Sear, CEO of mobile joint venture between EE, O2 and Vodafone Weve, has announced that he will take up the new position of CCO at online payment company Skrill.

Sear has resigned from the B2B m-commerce venture

Sear, who last month oversaw a safe-payment partnership with Mastercard, will join the London-based outfit in August where he will run the group’s commercial operations.

The executive who focused on cleaning up "messy mobile payments", said: "I am looking forward to working with the Skrill Group management to deliver growth and value to the organisation, and create new opportunities for businesses and individuals in the ever-evolving payments sector."

During his time at the helm of the mobile marketing and wallet joint venture Sear saw the company hit £13m in revenue since its launch a year ago.

Last month the announced that he will leave his role as CEO of Weve.

Skrill was founded in 2001 and employs over 700 people.

Sear will address an audience at The Drum Live event in London later today, on the topic of virtual company BitCoin.
