Apple poaches Tag Heuer's Patrick Pruniaux for iWatch launch
Apple has appointed luxury watch brand Tag Heuer’s vice president of global sales Patrick Pruniaux to its team.
The move was announced by Jean-Claude Biver, head of jewellery and watches at Tag Heuer's parent company LVMH in an interview with CNBC, although the name of the employee had not been revealed.
In the interview, Biver stated that the employee – now revealed as Pruniaux – had left the company "to launch the iWatch” and that this was not the only employee that Apple had tried to poach.
Of Pruniaux’s move, he said that if the sales director had gone to a direct competitor in the watch business “I would have felt a little bit betrayed, but if he goes to Apple I think it is a great experience for him”.
It is believed that the iWatch will launch in October.
