The Drum is set to become one of the first UK magazines to accept payments via Bitcoins at The Drum Live next week, where it will also showcase one of the world's first Bitcoin ATMs.

The magazine will activate its Bitcoin payment system during a session at the event on 9 July, while delegates at the event will have the chance to exchange cash for the cryptocurrency, and purchase items using Bitcoins from the on-site ATM.

Also during the session Weve CEO David Sear, alongside BitPay and Sheridans media lawyers, will take brands through how they can use Bitcoin and the technical data around it, before debating how payment processes can be integrated into websites.

The theme for this year’s The Drum Live is ‘What can be achieved in a day?’ with Unilever, Asda, She Says, Buzzfeed, and more taking part in the event. More information on what to expect and how to book tickets can be found on The Drum Live's dedicated website.

The Drum, which scooped Editorial Team of the Year and B2B Digital Publisher of the Year at the AOPs last night, previously revealed plans to start accepting the online currency last month.
