Bang & Olufsen’s ear phone brand B&O Play is to sponsor the WorldTour cycling team Tinkoff-Saxo during the Tour de France, which kicks off this weekend.

The deal will see the Danish company provide a customised Earset 3i, designed to feature ‘optimised radio communication and clean sound’, that will be worn by Tinkoff Saxo for this year’s race.

The product is the result of collaboration between the riders and technical staff at Tinkoff-Saxo and the sound engineers and product designers from B&O Play.

“We are very pleased to partner up with B&O Play for the Tour and onwards. The radio communication between the sport directors and the riders are simply essential in a race. We have wanted to upgrade the sound quality and connection during the races for a while and a partnership with B&O Play is a perfect fit”, said team manager of Tinkoff-Saxo, Bjarne Riis.

B&O Play is the newest member of the Bang & Olufsen family and launched in 2012.
