WPP has announced that Kantar, its data investment management division, has acquired a majority stake in data visualisation specialists Guardian Digital Agency.

The specialist data visualisation, site design and interactive development agency was previously part of the Guardian News and Media Group and employs 13 people.

WPP is in the process of augmenting its expertise in the fast growing digital media market, with digital revenues now accounting for almost 35 per cent of the group’s total revenues of $17.3bn – a proportion it intends to raise to 40-45 per cent by 2019.

Kantar has aspirations to become the dominant provider of insights for the business community.
